The Flintstones, which followed the Stooges on weekday afternoons, paled by comparison to these live-action cartoons (with sight gags and sound effects galore). Watching Moe, Larry and Curly for the first time was truly magical and I couldn’t get enough of them. I was 5 years old and the film was We Want Our Mummy - a total delight from beginning to end. My introduction to the Stooges was in September 1969 on Kansas City station KMBC. A year after their Columbia debut, the Three Stooges were hitting their stride in the two-reel comedy field - thanks to the slapstick mastery of director Del Lord. In March 1934, Moe Howard, Larry Fine and the brilliant Curly Howard made their mark on popular culture when they entered the realm of the Columbia Short Subjects Department (headed by producer Jules White).
